For your information, i have contributed to IV monetarily. It just does not show up on the handle for some reason i do not know.
So you are looking for motivation? Your post do not indicate that you are looking for motivation. There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. You are pretty much convinced that you don't belong here. Now you are just spoiling the environment to make sure that others all leave looking at you and mad-dog bickering. Not sure what your concerns are my freind. My intentions were pure and as follows:
a) We have won a battle but war is far from over.
b) Whole point of being able to file 485 is to obtain interim benefits, if there are substantial delays then whats the point.
c) There are other priorities in the life and it will be unfortumate if those are hostages to EAD/GC/AP.
e) The reality of the situation might inspire people to make change happen.
Having said that, I would like to express my disappointment on your tone of the message. Unlike yours, my message was not personal in nature. Your comments made me feel bad. I urge you to please exercise restraint. We are a team here!
Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? (If you do, please keep it to yourself and enjoy or cry about it). Right now, i want to be positive and enjoy the fruits of what IV has done to get some relief, why use negative logic to undermine it and that is what i am saying. Why dampen people's spirits by such post or why try to say that whatever IV has done is a waste. That is what i get from what you have posted. If you are cynical, keep it to your own self, dont start such negative threads. Dont know you and this is not a personal attack but think twice before you create such posts, because they are disheartening for many (including me) who are so frustrated that they can believe any thing negative. Chill out and let us enjoy the moment why we have it, if things change over the period, we are fighters, we will survive but dont add to our problems by your predictions and logic (which might be right to start with but do we tell cancer patients that they are going to die on such and such date).

Update. My attorney has sent a letter (interfiling process) to USCIS mentioning that my case is current now. One of my friends got 485 approved within 2 weeks after initiating interfiling process. I hope it would be the same case with me.

07 case is different. we can't infer much from that. I hope DOS has some insight into the no of pending cases when the move dates like this. I am sure there will be language in the actual bulletin that saves them from flak when the move dates back. The primary aim is to utilize the visa nos. But with all the information available to them the movement should be proportional to the nos available from spillover and etc.,
I don't see what is really different. I am not talking about July 2007. I am talking about May or June bulletin 2007. Do you mean the bulletin on May or June 2007 is to utilize the visa so the dates are not the "real" date? Then how do you know Aug. 2008 move is not for the same purpose? Especially if this movement is caused by spillover.

I know many of friends who use IV as recourse for NEWS but they don't register nor contribute. Even after multiple reminders and sarcastic comments they don't. I feel pity for them, they don't understand by registering and contributing they help them self and others. Shouldn�t we make IV a monthly subscription web site? That way we will have only serious members.

I believe the 140 backlog is artificial. They processed only 2k cases in one month. How come they finished all EADs in 3 months for all June/July filers? There is something more to all this than meets the eye.
Bootmline is they want to make it hard for us one way or the other. Btw, I had just come out of BEC and got stuck with 140 now.
When did your labor process from BEC? Do you know if there are any pending cases with National processing center, which is the successor of BECs?

Forget about LIFO or FIFO, this year EB2 won't be getting enough visa's from spill-over. They would be giving majority of spill-over to EB3-ROW/I/C and EB2 would be getting very small fraction. And how's that is possible for that they would play around the law ( by making EB2 current).

Every country has negatives, and I think people will highlight or hide India's negatives depending on their intentions to go back (or not).;) It helps in justifying one's decision.
Before we start comparing India & China, take a look at how many Chinese immigrants have either gone back or have decided to go back vs. Indians.
If educated & materially well settled people decide to go back to India and work for the betterment of the country, I dont see why things will not improve.

This seems very unfair to people who had earlier PDs (2004 & 2005) and who have waited so many years to file. Now, people with PDs in 2007 will jump ahead of them in the queue just because of this fiasco, juts because they filed earlier. :confused:
Talk about earlier PD's. Mine is March, 2002!! It would be disheartning to see people with PD's of 2004/2005 getting a visa number because they got the receipt number a couple of days before I did while I waited for all these years for the visa bulletin dates to move!!
And I bet that there are people from 2002/2003 still stuck at BEC's who might get labor and I-140 approved in a few months to find out they are at the end of the queue and would have to wait few more years because the dates might retrogress!!
I wish the USCIS would sort all applications by PD after August, 17th. But looking at their "Processing times" page, they seem to go by the receipt dates:

Landed on 03/1997 on H1B. Didn't file for GC until 2003 as plan was to work for 2-3 years, get into an MBA program, and then go back.
MBA resulted in loans of $120K which in turn meant spending some more time in the US which resulted in buying a house which resulted in even bigger loan.
Now living the American "dream" on EAD.

EB3 can only be helped when every one else is done.The way the preference categories are setup is that and the numerous cases from 2001 amnesty flooded the EB3 queue causing the retrogression. I don't suppose there can be any thing done to help EB3 specifically. We are at the bottom of the pile. If we have to be helped to get up, every one on top needs to be helped first.
Unless the visa recapture happens, there is no hope. Folks with 2001/2002 PD , keep your spirits up. You are almost there.
All others, if you can try EB2 porting, that's the way to go.

Appreciate all the groundwork you have done so far with reference to sending out mail.
I am based out of DC Metro area and would like to initiate / participate in meeting the lawmakers about the EB3 Issue and bringing it to their attention.
We need to do something about it NOW.
I am willing to take off from work and meet with whoever concerned would make a difference.
Senior Members we need your inputs.

Canada, Australia, UK(may be few more countries) does enable the applicant to handle the case rather than being sponsored by employer beause they do not have Many Non-immigrant Worker options as USA does. So they have to apply for a PR from outside the country.
Guys what about the type of visa? I mean shud the start date be ur H1B start date or ur F1 entry date? Coz if some people start on an H1 a lot of us also started on an F1. In that case doesnt it make more sense to root for the clause that says the immigrant can apply for his own GC that is employer independant? If i am not mistaken, is that not already a part of the PACE act?
