Hello Everybody,
Has anybody gone to Chennai US Consulate for H-1b revalidation lately?
Please share your experiences as I am planning to go and get my visa stamped this month.

I'm almost done with my portrait class and I'm still having some posing issues (portrait work isn't reallly my thing, apparently.)
I put the Mamiya away and played with the 1D this week. Other than some levels adjustments and resizing, they haven't been altered.
What do you think?

Jul 2nd filer. EAD approved late Sep and notice mailed on 10/2/07. (LUD on EAD 10/2)
There is a LUD on the AP application on 10/4/07, but the status still says case received and pending. What could this LUD be ?
When I saw the LUD (with 10/4) I got excited and thought AP was approved too, but when I click the case details , it still says pending. The text of the details did not change.

As everybody knows by now, recently Arizona's Governor signed a law requiring local law enforcement officials to take into custody persons when they have a "reasonable suspicion" that they are present in the U.S. illegally. The person would be turned over to the Immigration Service, and be released from jail if they could demonstrate their legal status. Last Monday, the ACLU and various other groups sued Arizona officials in Federal Court to void the law on a number of grounds including violation of the Constitutional rights of equal protection of the law and free speech. The US Chamber of Commerce is seeking a review by the nation's highest court of the Arizona law that calls for the revocation of business licenses for employers found to have knowingly hired illegally present immigrants and also mandates all employers in the state use E-Verify. The case could settle the basic question of what authority a state or local government has in regulating immigration.

All the while we saw people talk about new job matching LC job and not H1 (LCA) job. But it would be nice and safe if you have similar job on LC,LCA, new AC21 job. But mainly the job in LC should be considered as per my knowledge.

This is related to the experience letter and PERM.
I have been working with my current employer for last 3 years in software engineering role. Now I'm planning to move to program management role and planning to apply PERM from this new role.
1. To get experience letter for PERM, can I use the experience gained in my current company. What are the chances of AUDIT if I do so?
2. With my previous employer (3 yrs back) I worked in software and consulting role. Does this experience suffice for my PERM in program management role...Is it something the lawyer has to worry and not me..
Any answers are appreciated..Thanks in advance for the reply.

I was on H1B until Feb 2009 and I applied for COS to H4 in Feb 2009. USCIS has received my COS application, and it is still pending with USCIS for 2 months now.
1. Can a new employer apply for a new cap-exempt H1B for me (technically a transfer, as I was on H1B for 2 years before)?
2. In that case, do I need to submit paystubs and W2s from when I last held H1B status?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi all,
My ETA case in online status shows "DATA REVIEW" for the past 5 months, my PD Aug 04/RIR/EB2 is with Dallas BPEC.Initially the status was closed, and then opened. After 5 months of reopening it still says 'Data review' .Is there some thing wrong or should I talk to my lawyer.
Some of my friends who applied that time have their status 'in process' or even 'certified' .Any experience like this or will that go to certified from here directly or to "in process" first. How long it can be in each of these statuses.
Any ideas appreciated please!

I am in an interesting situation, my 485 is pending (PD June 22, 2006) and wondering if I should accept a position offered by my original GC employer, special when my PD is so close ( May take another 6-8 month).
I was part of company lets say X, a join venture between A&B. X applied for my GC 140 and 485 when I was with them. Then that company was split and 10% employee went to A and other 90% to B. I was part of 10% that went to A and did AC21 to port my case. It was considered as new company. Now my Old manager who moved to company B is offering a Job with significant promotion. Since X was technical acquired by B and X was my original employer, is it a win win situation to move or I stay put and wait for PD to become current before moving? job profile is goign to be same.

Today, I heard back from a senator and a congressman from New Jersey regarding the webfaxes that I had sent them. Here are a few things that I learnt
The associate in the Senator's office was not aware of this issue and the one in the congressman was only partially aware of it. If this is the situation of the associates who look after immigration with the lawmakers in NJ, where there are thousands of EB-GC aspirants, the situation might much worse in other states.
The associates in the lawmaker's office do take the effort to read through the faxes, thus making it effective to bring our issues to their attention.
Our WebFax application is working fine. Previously I never got replies to my web faxes. What might have helped is the fact that the web fax did have my complete contact information. This makes it more trustworthy in their eyes.
So I request all of you to send out WebFaxes to your lawmakers. It is free for you and takes only a couple of minutes. Once you have sent it, urge your friends also to do the same.
Stand up and be heard.

As we are sure that the August 2009 visa bulletin EB2 India date movement is due to spill over from higher priority categories, is there any way to find exactly how much visa numbers got spilled over to EB2 India and China?

I am at present on non-cap h1b and i have asked an employer to file for a new caped h1b in april 2008.
I have tentative plans of going to india in March end . In case i can't make it before april 1st back to US, can my new emplyer file for my New h1b while i am out side US...???
Is there any rule that, lates i-94 needs to be sent while aplying for h1b..???
