Hi,
I am currently with Wipro. I was working in india and i came onsite thorugh Wipro itself on H1B . Right now i have couple of offers with other companies and i would like to resign wirpo. When i want to resign wipro asks me to pay 5 lakhs + H1B change ($2000) . Can you please let me know how to proceed with this ? The reason why they are asking me to pay 5 lakhs is they want me to come back to india and work for 6 months(which does not make sense) when i have couple of offers here .
Is it legal for companies to charge this much of money ?
Has anyone from wipro come onsite and resigned here ?

My wife is planning on going to India in summer, and she has either misplaced or lost her i94 card. What should i do now?
Was it at I 94 given at the airport or was it something that came attached to approval notice with extension/change of status?
Do you know for sure that it was not expired?
Do you have a copy of it?
When is your wife coming back from India (for how long she is visiting)?

One can contiue to stay using I-485 receipt without valid I-94. afasik I-797 can be used only if you filed H1 extention after you came back on parolee.
If a person travels on AP, he will get a new PAROLE I-94 which shows expiry date of 1 year from the day he entered on AP. Can the person stay in US AFTER that expiry date and continue working using a valid I-797?

This might be little bit old, but I dont remember seeing a post on this. Employment-based immigrant visa fees almost doubled, Old fees $ 355, new fees $ 720 from July 13th. Does this mean USCIS will open the gates in Sept bulletin [to be released in August]?

Not applicable to most of us. You will pay $720 if you are doing your 485 through Consular Processing (I suppose).

1. I got laid off from company A last year. I was on H1B. Company A notified me about 1 month in advance so I had some time to find another job. I also had a valid EAD which I wasn't using at that time. They also did not cancel I-140.
2. I joined Company B using my EAD within the 30 day period, so I never went out of status. Also, I didn't file AC21
3. My GC application was approved in the first week of Aug.
I have a couple of really interesting opportunities that I would like to pursue. My job profile has been similar at both A and B and will likely be similar even in C should I join there. Am I required to work at B for any specific period of time before I can pursue these opportunities?
