Hello,
I am holding a valid H1-B visa which was stamped in 2007. But before i could make my travel plan i could see recession hitting US and people out of jobs. This made me to hold back my job at home instead of quitting in a hurry.
Now i am based in UK on an assignment and i would like to VISIT USA as a TOURIST for 4 weeks to see my brother.
1) Am i allowed to visit as a visitor ?
2) Can i still hold H1-b visa active without being cancelled ?
Anybody, please could you advise me how to go about.

Hi,
My wife is on H1B and she couldnt work for the past 6 months. I applied for my I 140 and I 485 during the July fiasco last year and she was not added as my spouse and we got married at a later date.
Since she didnt receive pay for 6 months, I guess she is out of status for these 6 months. So my question is will this have any effect on her GC process when I add her as my spouse to the I 485 application whenever my priority date become current ? I am really worried and dont want to screw up my GC process after a long wait.

I have been an active donor but had to temporarily cancel my subscription due to pay pal problems. I am back donating again and cannot access the donor forums. Could you please help me with this issue? I tried writing on the 'Contact us' form, but havent had any luck so far.

Hello, My Labor got certified with PD Oct 2003 under EB2.
I have to file for I-140. Where can I check the status whether it is current or lagging back ? Also is there a Premium 140 for EB2 started or not yet? Since I cannot file for I-485 till it becomes available and current to my PD, does it make sense to file for Premium 140 or should I file regularly?
What are the steps for I-140 and any urls where I can see the status..?

My attorney sent my I-485 at Nebraska center because my I-140 was pending at Nebraska but according to question # 38 on FAQ-3, it should have gone to TX based on June 22, 2007 direct filing directives. Should I file again at Texas center?

Would it be ok for me to travel abroad next week, or are there some travel restrictions after we file the forms?
Do we need an official receipt from USCIS before I can leave the US, or before I came back from the US, or any other restrictions?

I had an H1 for about 3 years (2 different employers), and then was hired by an international organization. I gave up the H1 and got a G4 visa, which I still have. Over the last 3 years with a G4, my credentials have changed, and am due to get my masters degree in May 2008. If I were to move to a job requiring H1 when I get my masters, will the total number of years allowed for me to hold an H1 roll back to 6 years? I'm thinking that since the skills I had as an H1B visa holder before have changed now.

I hyphenated my name while I was applying for a green card. All of my Canadian documents like my passport and my Canadian photo ids like my Ontario drivers license and health card are all in my maiden name. Can I bring my green card alone with no other documents or do I need some other government issued id? The only thing that has my current name is my green card. What do I need to get a license.

Hello, I really appreciate a lot if anyone here could help me on this..
The company I have been working with an H1B for a years got recently restructured to a new firm and it filed a H1B transfer for me this Feb. The petition got an RFE and the firm made an Appeal, which is now pending. The job looks now rather unsecure and I am not sure if the company will continue sponsoring me for a new H1B if this transfer got denied in the worst case scenario..
So my questions are:
1. Can I file a COS to F-1 while my H1B transfer appeal is still pending?
2. If my H1B transfer appeal got rejected, or I got laid off while it's still pending, after that happened is it still possible and in time to file a COS to F1?
I am really worried about my current situation now, and thank you very much if you could kindly help on it!
