I have been sailent follower of the IV and it has been an great help i have got from IV for my GC gourney. I have received the CPO email for me and my wifes 485 of friday, but nothing after that no approval email or welcome notice email, is this is common?

Hello All;
I would like to share our expereience during finger printing apointment at said center. We arrived an hour and half earlier, so asked the security guard if that was OK. She told us it's fine and we should go to lady officer at next door to take application forms. We took for each one of us, filled them while watching "Baby's day out" movie being shown. Returned the applications and were asked to go to assigned waiting seats. Here we were further escorted by an officer to finger printing machine. Did finger printing and had the notice form stamped, and were out of center in less than 30 minutes. No problems, no delays nothing to worry at all. So go and have fun!:D
P.S : Don't drop off your wife at center ... wait for few minutes. Otherwise she would be begging for phone to call you ( as they won't allow her to keep phone). I helped out one such fine lady earlier today!

How about this ? Lets say your consulting firm is ready to file your I-485 upon lots of restriction such as two year agreement and to spend around 10 gran.
While the big firm who has filed the PERM and waiting for the approval. In this case, can we do both the cases to see which is better upon the current situation.
This will help few of our folks and your thoughts are always appreciated.

I have been working for Everest Business Solutions, Inc since 09/2005. They are very professional. So far i am happy with them and they filed my GC as they promised. Regular in Pay and help you out whenever needed. My wife is also working for the same company.

Lawful permanent residents (LPR) of the United States (green card holders) need to keep their trips abroad to a relatively short period of time. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could determine that an LPR has abandoned their residence if the LPR’s intent was not to return to the U.S. within a relatively short period of time.
Factors DHS could consider in evaluating the LPR’s intent include:

LPR’s family ties in the U.S.;
property holding in the U.S.;
business affiliations within the U.S.;

October is usually a month where we see improvements as new visa numbers become available for a new fiscal year. Most categories showed forward movement though few jumps of more than a few months. The exception is the Mexico Family 1st category which jumps a year and a half. EB-3 is available again, but not set at a date particularly close. Most people will not be happy with the dates. Can people post experiences on turnaround time for getting medical test documents back from the doctor? I have heard 2-3 days after initial appointment, but the doctor's offices I have called say 7-10 business days. Also, I have heard that some doctor's are faster than others. Is this true?

Hi Friends,
Any way to expedite Indian Passport renewal in India. My wife applied the passport renewal in Chennai in Feb 2011. It is almost 3 months. Usually how long it will take ?. Is there a way to contact them to expedite the process.
I applied Tatkal passport renewal for my son in April 2011. It is a month now. Not received.
There is no enough information on whom to contact and how to expedite the service.:(

Here is the latest on H1B visa numbers, they now passed the 50K mark. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has now received approximately 48,977 H-1B petitions counting toward the congressionally-mandated 65,000 limit. USCIS also confirmed that it has received approximately 17,836 H-1B petitions for employees with advanced degrees from U.S. colleges and universities. The annual limit on H-1B petitions in the advanced degree category is 20,000.
Accordingly, USCIS is still accepting H-1B petitions under both the general cap and the advanced degree cap. We also continue to process H1B cases, but time is running out so in order to secure visas for this season employers must act now.

I realize they dont acknowledge anywhere the lack of visa numbers as a problem with EB immigration. They only speak of processing times delays and hiring more staff to overcome that.

I am trying to change my job from PM to technical lead. My labor was filed for computer systems manager. Will technical lead come under the same category & occupation as computer systems manager?. New employer agreed to give me similar job duties in EVL & I am getting 40% hike. Is it wise to use AC-21 here?.

We are applying for my husband's H4 extension now. ( My new H1b extension was approved only till Sept 25, 2009 based on the SOW( client contract) rather than 3 years)So he would be able to get his extention same as me Sept 25, 2009.
We have also applied for my husband's H1b this year. Hopefully, if his H1b is approved
1. Does he has to go outside US to get his visa stamped to start working from Oct 1, as there is no status for him from Sept 26 through Sept 30 ( 5 days)
2. If we apply for his H4 extension along with my H1b extension during early Sept and he will remain in status as the Case will be pending, Does it allow him to start working on H1b without needing to stamp?

Encouraging. Darryl Issa, the powerful new GOP House Oversight Committee Chair, has introduced this bill in the past, but with the change in party control, he's got a lot more clout this time around. Issa is proposing replacing the green card lottery's annual green card allotment with a new green card category for US-educated graduates in the science, technology, math and engineering fields. Frankly, the lottery is a program that is always under attack and I'd rather see the program's numbers go to increasing either the family or employment categories.
