I hear you and for most part agree with you that USCIS - However bad they may seem - is still one of the best run government agencies...

If they start processing/approve I-140, they will immi get bombarded with I485/EAD/AP applications. So they are trying to artifically stem down the workload they might get. Also this gives them a chance to clearup the 485 queue ... :-)

My employer is a big wall street investment bank, and they have filed my PERM on May 14th.
The trend for PERM certification at Atlanta, as per my employer is between 90-120 days. Because they handled so many PERM cases at Atlanta, they know this trend.
Nothing muck we can do here. Just pray and hope for the best.

Sent an email to PBEC a month ago asking about my case status. Got their response today. They assigned me a case number, which seems to be generated on the 157th day of 2005 (P-05157-54869 ). However, my lawyer hasn't received any 45-day letter. Can this be possible?
My PD is April 2004. Filed from Delaware. Anybody knows a similar case?

Thanks for the idea. May I request you to please inform every one here, number of hours that you can spend volunteering for IV? I ONLY contributed DOLLARS, but never contributed TIME and I feel ashamed of that. There are many people who have contributed both dollars and time.
If you promise some time volunteering to IV for all the ideas that you listed, I am PROMISING to contribute DOLLARS for you. Are you ready? If so, please send email to IV core.

I filed my labor on Feb 5th and still in processing. My lawyer has opened an enquiry but so far no response. I read this in the Immigration -law site:
As to the problem of Atlanta National Service Center delays, there were rush of H-2B case filings and that Center had to switch around the resources from PERM to H-2B cases. However, the situation is under control and the Atlanta Center will see positive changes from here on in terms of the processing times. There are aware that in light of the immigrant visa number changes in July 2007, such changes should help in achieving some level of fairness.
Hope something works out quickly before we miss the bus. I am planning to send an email or request to my Senator. Any ideas on this?

I am in a bind now, appreciate any advice,
I am planning on using my EAD to switch to another job in a couple of months. Meanwhile I have booked tickets for May 26th to send my son to India for the summer. He has H4 stamped in his passport valid till 2010.
My question is
**Can my son come back on H4 even though I use my EAD to change jobs ?
**Does he need to have advance parole ? Even if I apply for AP tomorrow, chances are very slim that he will get it before he leaves on May 26th.

If you switch Jobs, and you don't have your H1B transfered to the new employer this means your H1B is not valid. No your son can not entry the country on H4 he must use AP. But if you continue to work full time on H1B and work part time on EAD with another employer then he can come on H4.

July bulletin is OUT and NO more significant movement. Please call Lawmakers ASAP. Unless we take action USCIS is not going to do anything. Situation can be worse once we head towards election season. Still we have 1-2 months to get things done or we will be waiting for years to get green card OR EAD ( For some folks ).
It is just 10-15 minutes need to spend to call. Let them know WHO WE ARE AND WHAT ARE OUR ISSUES .
Please I request all of you to call , if you already call then ask your friends and family members to call.
Now its time to act. If we dont take action CHC will not allow to move ahead our 3 bills.

It is true that a lot of the members signed up just so that they can follow the happenings, and maybe post an immediate question that they might have. We may have a huge membership base, but without any action from such a base can make any plan from the core a failure. What we need to do is to energize the baselevel members. The senate is comprised of senators from our respective states, and the house has reps from each state. We have individual state chapeters for IV. I think the Core will need to plan out a strategy to help the state chapters approach their senators and house reps, while the core concentrates on contacting the DoJ committees. Meeting a few senators here and there will not help. We need to contact ALL the senators and apprise them of the situations. Rather than have a different message sent to each senator, the core will need to define an agenda, and the communication needed. The state chapters will need to take that and follow up with their respective senators and reps, without diluting any of the messages. Having the core meet all the senators is not proper, we need to pitch in too. Unless we work as a team, nothing that the core has planned will work.
I was/am a member in immigration.com where all the talk of starting this forum happened. I have interacted with the core on many occassions before, and I was also one of the first to join this community. But work and family pressures prompted me to stay away, and in the meantime, my handle and password were forgotten. I had to resign up, and what I find today is that there is no understanding between the members. Be thankful that this forum was set up, and contribute positively in any way you can. Without your support, the core cant do it all. Lets stop worring about donations and membership fees. We are all intelligent, and highly paid. We have the brains to talk to senators and house reps. Lets move forward to get at least piecemeal legislations passed. Lets not wait for CIR. CIR is not going to happen, so dont believe in it.
